Yoga is Joy for Susana. She is a certified yoga instructor and her yoga practice is the great center of her life. She graduated from the Advanced Yoga Studies and Teacher Training Program through the Yoga Center of Carmel. Her mission statement, uncovered in the training, is to practice peace in the here and now daily, and to share her practice with others. What is Yoga? The word means “yoking” of the Self by spiritual discipline; a method of training designed to lead to union of the human spirit with ultimate reality, and a release from the limits of the individual ego. A path to salvation. An end to identification with suffering. Susana McGuire is also a professional artist, drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil as a child. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan in 1985. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the prestigious art school. Susana’s artistic focus has always centered on people. She is fascinated by faces and hands, and how they tell the inner story of where a person has come from, and who they are. She now resides in Monterey, California, and owns a graphic design business. Susana has been fascinated with metaphysics and the nature of God and mankind, and has studied these matters her entire life.
